Problem
The main challenge was to develop a solution to replace copper piping for hot water conduction that would be more cost-competitive while offering equal or better performance than copper.

Challenges
Through an arduous sales effort, we managed to identify a customer in the market and build a solid relationship with them, which gave us the opportunity to present a CPVC compound proposal. Initially, we only had the theoretical framework; however, thanks to our experience in the design and development of other compounds, we were able to deliver a proposal that was excellently received due to its performance…
Among the features that generated the greatest customer satisfaction was the surface finish of the pipes manufactured with our compound. The customer was used to seeing a slightly rough finish, whereas our compound delivered a finish free of imperfections. Additionally, the designed product demonstrated excellent thermal stability.
A crucial part of the material’s strong performance was the technical support provided by our Research and Development team during the installation process. The optimal processing conditions for the material were determined to ensure that the manufactured pipes delivered excellent impact and crush resistance.

Results
Today, we participate in the CPVC compounds market, so what began as an opportunity has now become an established market that positions Alphagary Compounds as a company capable of offering competitive solutions for the pipe market. In fact, CPVC has been offered to other market clients, and they still ask how a company that does not manufacture pipes can produce a product of such high quality.
This success positions us in the market to such an extent that customers occasionally ask us to review which PVC compounds for piping we have available, not just CPVC.
